Start with the intended use
A translation for internal understanding may have different requirements from a document submitted to an authority. Tell us the country, receiving organisation and purpose, together with any written instructions.
Terminology and reference documents
Existing agreements, approved terminology and related materials help keep the work consistent. The brief should identify the relevant jurisdiction and any expressions or names that must be retained.
Handle confidential material deliberately
Access to documents is limited to the people who need to assess or carry out the agreed service. Contact the team before sending material with specific confidentiality or access requirements.
When certification is required
Legal translation does not automatically include certification. If the receiving organisation requires a certified translation, the team can assess the requested procedure and identify the services included in the proposal.
